About Me

I grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, where I attended Colorado Mesa University.  In 2010, I graduated CMU Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Accounting.  After graduation, I went straight into public accounting and learned everything from full-service bookkeeping, to tax preparation, to formal responses to the IRS and State, to even helping folks with their personal finances.

I received my CPA license at the start of 2011, and have kept up on any new accounting practices and regulations through a variety of continuing education.

In the spring of 2013 I moved to Westminster, Colorado, which I still call home.  At that time, I moved from the public sector to private industry and non-profit accounting.  It is a lot different from public accounting in that it is more about process improvement, really digging into the details, and focusing more on a single entity and that entity's goals.

I feel that these different experiences have helped me become a well-rounded accountant.  Unlike the stereotypical accountant, I am absolutely a people person.  I love getting to meet new clients and thoroughly enjoy trouble-shooting and helping create lasting solutions for individuals in their business or personal finances.

In my off time, I am an avid horseback rider.  I have ridden since I was a little girl and have found it to be one of my greatest passions.  I own a Welsh Cob gelding named Gavin and have had him for over 6 years now.  We jump, trail ride, and work consistently on overall communication and improvement as a team.

At home I spend my time with my husband, Shawn, and our puppy dog, Fudge.  We love to travel, take Fudge for walks at the park, and go out for breakfast and coffee on the weekends.
